Fishing Notes

Tonight Bob Renken and I fished the Wednesday night tournament with a milk run of brush piles to fish. We pulled up to our first spot on a secondary point and there was a boat on that spot so we made a run to the Osage and fished some good brush piles spots that usually produce some good keepers and had no bites. As this is a 3.5 hour tournament with the last hour plus in the dark, so we really cannot spend a lot of time fishing an area if we are not getting bit. The dam was running some current, so we ran to a bluff end that can be good with current and caught a small keeper. We then ran around to a few more good brush spots only catching a few shorts. We then pulled up to a bank just before dark and caught about 6 keepers but not real big ones. I was mostly on net duty tonight as Bob caught 5 of our 7 keepers. The bite after dark was better and those fish after dark were a bit shallower and for the most part not relating to the brush. We finished with about 10.5 pounds in the 4 fish limit tournament, it took 14+ to win and 12+ pounds to win.
