Fishing Notes

My nephew Nick and I started fishing about 9 this morning, targeting off shore brush piles at the 18mm of the Osage. Nick caught a small keeper and some shorts on the cut tail worm in 12′-15′ brush piles. We then went to the other side of the lake fishing spawning pockets and secondary points just outside of spawning pockets and caught a few more shorts on Carolina Rig and COG Shaky head w worm. In the morning I fished the spook, jig, floating stick bait and whacky worm in spawning pockets with no bites. When the boat traffic got crazy about 10:30 we moved the no wake area by the Glaize Bridge. As our area to fish was a bit limited we worked points to the backs of creeks. I caught a 4 pounder on the Carolina Rig off the bank in a spawning pocket and we both had a lot of bites around and just outside the spawning pockets. I had one more small keeper on the C-Rig in a bit deeper water outside the spawning pocket. So 3 keepers and about 10 fish from 9-1. We then got off the lake about 1:30 to watch the UEFA Champions League Soccer final. Im a big time international soccer fan, LOL. After the game we got back on the water about 4 and fished til 7. We caught another 10 fish, I caught 3 three pounders on the C-Rig and Wobble Head worm and Nick caught a nice 3 pounder on the Crock-o-Gator Shaky head with worm. We both caught 3 pounders on steep, big rock banks with brush piles around main lake docks. My fishing partner and best friend Bob Renken, whacked them today on the upper Niangua on points and inside of secondary points on the swim bait and Crock-o-Gator Shaky head with worm. His best 5 were over 20 pounds and biggest fish, 6.2 pounds. Sorry for the side ways pictures, something crazy going on with pics on website, sorry all.
